To our English speaking visitors
"Calanais-windsprites" is the website of our Silken Windsprite house. We love Scotland since our first visit in the Seventies. We also visited the Outer Hebrides with our children and so we went to Calanais. That was the moment, when we have fallen in love for this place full of mystery. That's the reason, why we called our House of dogs
We are Eva and Hans Peter Kraehenbuehl and have had sighthounds for more than 50 years now. We invite you to look at our pages and enjoy the pictures of our dogs.
The breed was founded in the USA about 60 years ago by Walter A. Wheeler jun. under the name "Longhaired Whippets".

During the years 2015 - 2024 our dogs were successful in show and coursing.
On Good Friday (25th of March) 2016 Claybrook Killiecrankie gave birth to eight (4/4) healthy puppies. We are so thankful for this wonderful gift. The Sire was our CH Spirit of Chayenne Fidélio.
During 2017 CH Callanish Cape Wrath, out of our first litter, was the most successful Windsprite in Germany.
In February 2018 we left Switzerland and found our new home in Wischhafen in Northern Germany not far from Hamburg.
On 14th of August 2019 we got 4/4 puppies out of our third litter (our first in Germany) with Killiecrankie and Cape Wrath, seven small red puppies and one white one (Loch Meala).
In the same year we sold our house because of unfriendly neighbors and found another house 300 Kilometers more south in 32369 Rahden, where we had on the 12/20/2022 our last litter with 2 / 3 puppies (Loch Meala and the beautiful Sire Ivaldi von Krefting).
